Time to Change at lifestudents!

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) 8th Graders move up to EDGE?  What is this about?  Every year we allow 8th graders to come up to EDGE after Easter. We know how many changes and challenges there are in the Fall, so we like to help 8th graders have one less change in their life at that time.  Moving them up early gives them a chance to get to know the leaders, the students and the differences of the high school program.
PLEASE NOTE: 5th graders, moving up to middle school and 12th graders moving up to college will happen after June 14th…
2) Why the Change of Day and Time? In a survey a few months ago, we received unanimous confirmation that Sunday night is the best night for families. We also heard from students, parents and leaders who requested we finish a little earlier too. Therefore, the program begins at 5:30pm for both middle and high school. middle school ends at 7:30pm, while high school ends at 8pm. For students who are in middle school and have a high school sibling to wait for, they can hang out in the cafe, get snacks and drinks, play games until 8pm.
3) What is the Cafe? Students can get snacks and drinks (for a small donation), and play all kinds of games in the cafe on Sunday evenings. The cafe is for high school students in the first half of the evening, while middle school students get to hang out there in the last part of their evening.
4) CORE and EDGE meet together now? Nope. They will meet at the same time, but will be in different locations in the building.

Ben’s Best Building Update… EVER!

Posted by | Posted in Information | Posted on 16-03-2009

Hey Everyone,

On Sunday March 15th Ben Fisher from Life Church went through the building to show the students how the building project is going. Check it out for yourself after you read these two important pieces of information:

1) CORE (middle school) MOVES TO SUNDAYS and EDGE (high school) continues on Sundays .  As long as the project finishes on time and the permits are done in time, we will look to move to the building for middle school and high school on April 19th. PLEASE NOTE: CORE (middle school), is moving to Sundays on this date and will continue to meet on Sundays…

2) New Times for EDGE and CORE. More info to come, but for now, make a note that EDGE and CORE will start at 5:30pm. CORE (middle school), will be done at 7:30pm, while EDGE (high school) will be done at 8:00pm. For students with high school siblings there will be a coffee shop area to hang out in and do activities until their sibling is done… We hope that one ‘drop off’ and one ‘pick up’ will help parents who have a middle schooler and high schooler.

3) 8th Graders come up to EDGE on April 19th: When we move to the new building, 8th graders get to come to EDGE. We do this every year and it provides 8th graders with a solid connection with EDGE students and leaders before the busy Fall comes. The transition from middle school to high school is challenging, so we want to help these students make an easier and earlier jump into high school…

February Message Series

Posted by | Posted in Information | Posted on 30-01-2009

image-is-everythingIn the month of February,  CORE, (middle school) will be diving into a series called, ‘Image is Everything’.  In a world where image is everything, it’s easy to change who you are just to fit in. In this series students are challenged to become more like God intends them to be and less of a copy of others. Students will find peace, comfort and identity as they discover their true image… The image of God…

EDGE (high school). The reality for every high school student is that challenges, pain, and hurts will happen. It’s a question of time. In the month of February we will take a look at how to be better prepared for the hurt in life, and how to deal with it when it comes our way. ‘Scarred, Preparing for hurt in life’ will help students navigate some of life’s greatest challenges…
