Coming up THIS Sunday, March 28th, 2010

To conclude “THE CROSS” series and to prepare for Easter, teens will be participating in an interactive prayer activity called “Experiencing Jesus’ Passion.” There are seven different stations where students can pause to reflect on the steps Jesus took on his way to the cross.

1. PAINFUL THORNS: While holding stems with thorns, students will thank Jesus for enduring the pain on the cross and for taking on the “thorns” in their lives.
2. NAIL OF SIN: Students will hammer nails into wood and ask forgiveness for specific sins.
3. BITTER VINEGAR: Students will taste vinegar, remembering the bitter times in life and praying for God to help prevent bitterness in tough times to come.
4. DISTRACTING DICE: While rolling a single die, each student will pray for God to help him or her focus on Christ.
5. REMEMBER ME: While writing their names on newsprint, students will thank Jesus for loving them eternally.
6. THE NEW COVENANT: Students will tear cloth and thank God for ripping through barriers in their lives.
7. LIGHT OF THE WORLD: Students will light candles to symbolize the new light and life found in Christ.

A NEW Series begins at EDGE and CORE!

During the Easter season, most of us look at the cross with great nostalgia and gratitude, remembering all that Jesus Christ did for us. But the cross means more than that. Not only is it a place where Jesus did something for us, but it is also the place where He showed us how to die so we could truly live.

Week 1 – Sunday, March 14th:

• THE CROSS: LIVE TO DIE – The cross isn’t just where Jesus died. It is where we come to die with Him.

Week 2 – Sunday, March 21st:

• THE CROSS: DIE TO LIVE – The cross isn’t just where we come to die. The cross is where we come to live.

Week 3 – Sunday, March 28th:

• THE CROSS: EXPERIENCING JESUS’ PASSION – Seven different stations where students can pause to reflect on the steps Jesus took on his way to the cross.

Week 4 – Sunday, April 4th – EASTER SUNDAY – NO EDGE OR CORE
